Negative experience: I was at a wedding Amanda was running with a couple younger girls (guess her staff). Honestly… not impressed. Saw her be rude to other vendors a few times. She straight up shushed one of the photographers, super harsh and rude, even her own staff gasped “Amanda!” like they couldn’t believe it. Later she’s sitting down with a drink at a table by the head table while other vendors and her own staff were squished at the bar, who didn’t even get served food with guests, they had scraps of what was left offered a couple of times. These guys were working hard all night and being polite and professional, meanwhile she looked annoyed at everything. Didn’t seem planned out either. Heard her tell the photographers they had like 15 min for formal pics, no spot picked out for them. Then I watched her snap “YOU have to move, I need the line of sight” and “stop talking, I"M talking and I get flustered.” Like come on. You don't talk to people like that. Other ppl at my table were talking about it too, everyone noticed how she acted. Felt like she wanted to look important more than anything. Wouldn’t recommend. Be nicer to people. Hugging the couple at the end doesn’t erase the way you treated everyone else, and word spreads.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough positive things about Amanda. She helped put together the most amazing wedding reception imaginable. Her professionalism is absolutely outstanding. From the vendors she sourced to making sure every last detail was perfect she put together a party that will be talked about for a long time to come! If you are planning an event I highly suggest you hire Amanda Douglas, she didn’t let us down in the slightest and I am so thankful for her.

Fantastic experience: We booked Amanda for the full planning services. From the start, it was so important to us that the "vibe" was right with the planner and that they put us at ease and boy did Amanda do that! She is so organized and everything laid out that as long as we kept up with our to do lists, the stress was basically zero for the wedding!! The day of, we had a snafu with our shuttle (which our officiant was taking!) And honestly, Amanda handled it so smoothly that I barely remember the disruption. Every step of the way she was so supportive and was very clear on "this works" or "this won't work" and just was so amazing. I can't sing her praises enough. Probably the best $ investment we made into our wedding!!

Her out going, kind, honest, fun, organized and creative personality plus more I'm probably missing because Amanda can do it all!! Having Amanda took away every single but if stress with planning our backyard wedding. It was during Covid so we did FaceTime meeting with her for 2 years ! Felt so weird after our wedding not having our monthly FaceTime chats haha. The day of the wedding everything went so smoothly with timing of things. Amanda keeps everything so organized with the excel sheets she provides it was impossible to not be prepared for anything. Amanda also is honest with what’s realistic pricing if you ask her! Fantastic experience: We hired Amanda for our August 2022 wedding and I am so thrilled we did! After having to cancel many times during the pandemic, we knew we needed some expert help to make our dream wedding a reality. We decided to go for the full planning package, which included one on one consultations and budget planning leading up to our big day, as well as her services throughout our wedding day. She offered invaluable tips, advice and insight into what would be best for florals, decor, fun ceremony ideas, dinner service...you name it. Her online client portal has so much to offer and is organized with her clients in mind. It is obvious why she has been in this business for as long as she has. We met several times over video in the months leading up to our wedding to discuss all of our event details, and she was also on hand to meet with our caterer and take notes on all things we liked/didn't like. She has solid connections with vendors in Manitoba and facilitated all meetings, requested quote adjustments and figured out all the logistics so that I could focus on just getting married! During wedding week she made herself available for any last minute details and calls and on the wedding day she executed everything to perfection. I'm so grateful to ADE for their excellent services and would recommend her and her team to anyone that is looking for a stress free, enjoyable and handsoff approach to wedding planning. Bonus points to her for also being a dog handler for our Corgi who was a flower girl. She does it all!

Fantastic experience: We had planned most of our wedding ourselves, but as the big day got closer, we realized we needed a pro to help us tie up all the loose ends that were left hanging. We ended up hiring Amanda for wedding management, which was the perfect solution for us! Amanda helped us nail down a complete wedding day schedule and patiently talked us through all of the decisions we had left to make. Fantastic experience: Amanda Douglas made my wedding day perfect! We did a custom wedding. Meaning everything from food down to the lighting was out sourced by individual vendors. She organized and managed all our vendors. We had a vendor issue day of, she did not only resolve the issue but did it while setting up our venue. Allowing my husband and I to enjoy our day, focusing only on each other. Her attention to detail and care for our guest is unmatched. My brother is autistic, so he is sensitive to sound and needed specific food/drink. She not only ensured his food was prepared properly she also checked in with him several times thought out the night. She ensured my grandma that needs a walker was alway comfortable and that there was always a safe walking path for her. These are the little details that make the night go by perfectly. I highly recommend her services. Her personal approach, experience and attention to detail will help turn your day into something truly special.

Fantastic experience: We did not even know where to begin when planning our wedding. Amanda was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. She was essential in the planning process and also on the day of the event. There were a couple of issues on our wedding day and during the reception, but due to her expertise and experience we did not have to worry about them and weren't even aware there had been any problems until afterwards. Since we had what amounted to a ‘destination wedding’ in Winnipeg (we live near Boston), we relied heavily on Amanda to make sure everything would go smoothly. I had extremely high expectations, yet somehow, even these were exceeded by the professionalism and skills of Amanda Douglas’ wedding planning. There is nothing she doesn’t think of, and the way she organises and plans made the time leading up to the wedding manageable and sometimes even fun! And the day of the wedding, wow. The ceremony, timing, reception, transitions, and all the little things were perfect, due mostly to Amanda’s preemptive careful planning. Amanda was the best investment we made for our wedding. Fantastic experience: Amanda Douglas was my wedding planer in August 2019. She helped me to plan most of the wedding, long distance. I was working in Thompson, Manitoba for the year and Amanda and I at first had monthly Skype meetings that eventually turned in to weekly ones. She held my hand through every step of the planning process, helped me budget the wedding and opened my eyes to the reality of the wedding planning. She was there for when I could not make a decision and helped me to narrow down the choices. The day of the wedding Amanda and her team transformed the Fort Garry Crystal Ballroom into the elegant timeless romantic space. Positive experience: After about 1.5 years of planning, my fiance (now husband) and I decided we needed some help fine-tuning a few wedding details.  The timeline, set up, and take-down in particular were my biggest stress factors.  We hired the ADE team for "Day of Coordinating" services, however "day of" is very misleading; their services stretched far beyond that.  Amanda quickly set up a Skype meeting to go through our wants and needs, and helped piece together a very intricate itinerary leading up to the day.  At first it was overwhelming to see all the teeny tiny details we had to allocate time to, but it was exactly then I knew we had made a terrific investment.  Things that would have completely slipped my mind were perfectly laid out for me and as result, we had an abundance of guest compliment saying that everything flowed more smoothly and effortlessly than any wedding they had ever attended.  Her team ensured the day was sharp and concise: they created a rain delay plan, kept guest count and cued us down the aisle accordingly, were responsible for keeping the MCs and speeches on time, and worked with our photographer to get lists of family and keep the post ceremony photos flowing effortlessly. On the day of our wedding I didn't have to worry about a thing.  The ADE Team did all of our set up and take down, delivering our personal decor to my house the next day and returning all our rentals to local businesses as well.  I have nothing but excellent things to say about the quality of their team and I would highly recommend Amanda Douglas Events.

Fantastic experience: Amanda and her team made the wedding of our dreams come true!! We live in Ontario and got married in Steinbach, MB and we honestly could not have done this without Amanda. I had no idea what it took to plan a wedding and I would not have had everything covered on my own. I really want to rave about how little we had to do on our wedding day and if anything came up (which almost EVERYTHING went off without a hitch) then she was the point of contact so there was absolutely no stress for my husband and I. Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough amazing things about Amanda! We hired her for day of coordination for our wedding but that means much more than just working together on the day of. Amanda started meeting with us 6 months out from the wedding to start organizing the time line of the wedding. She was extremely organized and efficient. We felt like we were in the best hands throughout the whole planning process. Amanda answered all of my emails with numerous questions throughout the whole planning process so quickly. We met 2 months prior to finalize details. Everything was documented on a shared google drive doc which was so convenient. At the rehearsal, Amanda was amazing with our 2 year old flower girl and on the day of was so great with her as well. She works so well with kids. On our wedding day, Amanda and her assistant Cait kept us on track, I never felt rushed or like I was forgetting to do anything. We were actually AHEAD of schedule on the wedding day and Amanda worked with our MC to rearrange the timeline. They set out all of our decor and gave us some great ideas/tips to make our wedding a little special/different that we incorporated. My family loved how organized Amanda kept us during our family photos. It was so efficient and no time was wasted (which was important as we had some elderly family members for family photos and it was +30 degrees out that day). If you're considering hiring a wedding planner, trust me.. this is the best investment you'll make that day.

Fantastic experience: I was planning my own wedding when I found Amanda Douglas Events. I had the opportunity to intern with her for about 5 months before my big day. I am so grateful for the internetship as I did not realize how much her and her team do before during and even after the wedding. I hired her instantly, my husband (fiancé at the time) didn’t understand why we would need someone to help with day of coordination. The day of the wedding came him and Amanda got along she asked him questions as much as she asked me both of us were involved as much as we wanted to be. The wedding day came, Amanda took care of everything you name it she was on it to the late bus with the guest to helping us line up to get ready to start to my mom feeling comfortable to talk to Amanda about getting food service started a little earlier. It was great because during the week of our wedding we were able to relax and enjoy the company of our family and friends. Complications and concerns were quickly addressed and Amanda was quick in finding a solution and resolving issues that arose. Fantastic experience: My wife and I got married this past June at Cielo's Garden just outside of Steinbach. Given that we are both very busy in our careers and wanted to enjoy the day as much as possible without paying attention to the little things, we decided to hire a wedding planner. We had heard good reviews about Amanda Douglas and her team but decided to meet with a few others as well. Amanda was our first meeting and we pretty much knew at that moment it was going to be very hard to find someone we liked so much and had so much confidence in from the outset. We certainly were conscious of our budget and her prices were higher than other planners but we couldn't pass over the fact of how sharp, kind, fun and professional Amanda was. After a few other meetings we confidently decided to work with Amanda. With each meeting, email or phone call up to and including the wedding day we were so happy with our choice! Despite not electing for the full planning package Amanda was available for questions, and our scheduled meetings as part of our plan were incredibly thorough, helpful and kept us on track. In addition to all the great face to face time, the resources that Amanda provided were numerous and very helpful. We went from having no idea what we were doing, to planning a beautiful and incredibly fun wedding for 200 people. On the day of the wedding, we were essentially in cruise control. Amanda handled all the details, the set up of the venue, the seating arrangements and everything that you don't want to have to do yourself on your wedding day. We never once thought about it as we were so confident in Amanda and her team. The day was incredible, the 2 or 3 little hiccups that inevitably occurred were handled with ease and our party continued on with no one else being aware of the issues (running out of white wine early due to a hot day). We even elected to pay for the clean up hours which meant all of our family and friends could party until the last song and then travel safely home in the buses we arranged. Amanda did the cleanup, and had everything in boxes at our house the next day. We shared a huge hug and thank you and made sure to buy her some chocolate (her favourite) as a thank you for the incredible work she did and the role it played in what was the best day of our lives!

Fantastic experience: Hiring Amanda Douglas Events to plan our wedding was the best decision we made! We chose to work with Amanda because we had no idea where to even begin with planning a wedding and we are so disorganized. Amanda is such a lovely person to work with, she is incredibly organized and is an expert on everything wedding related. She made the entire process fun and stress-free. Our meetings were always a great balance of planning and fun (so many laughs and bonding over our mutual love of dogs!). She is so easy to get along with and it always felt like she had our best interest in mind as she liaised with all the vendors and helped bring our ideas to life! We loved that she kept us on track by sending friendly reminders and to-do lists (much appreciated since we are such procrastinators!). On the day of our wedding having Amanda and Danielle there was completely invaluable – they coordinated with all of the vendors, set up the venue to make it look perfect, kept everything on schedule, and made sure everything ran smoothly. We were able to enjoy our day and not worry about a thing. We are so appreciative of all her hard work and honestly can’t imagine what we would have done without her!

Fantastic experience: Where do I even start. Day of Coordination is definitely the most valuable expenditure of my wedding budget by far. I certainly could not have pulled everything together without Amanda and her team. Amanda knows this business in and out and is absolutely exceptional at what she does. My bridesmaids and I honestly felt like she was just one of the girls hanging out with us the day of, but she was everywhere she needed to be, in control, and making sure everything was happening and being set up the way it should be. Fantastic experience: I never thought of myself as a "wedding planner" type of bride, but hiring Amanda was the best wedding decision that my husband and I made. We planned our Winnipeg wedding from Toronto, so we initially hired Amanda to alleviate any long distance planning stressors. We ended up hiring her company for Styling + Design, Day-of Coordination & some Hourly Consulting - and I'm soooo happy we did! Our wedding day was flawless, and I still get complimented on how beautiful and organized everything was. I eventually thought of Amanda as my "wedding therapist" because she had a solution for every wedding-related problem I had. And even though she was busy with other weddings, she always managed to email me back within a few days. Having her constant support throughout the planning process was absolutely invaluable. If you're considering hiring Amanda, I have two big suggestions: 1) Hire Amanda first before hiring ANY of your other vendors. She has a tonne of insider knowledge when it comes to the best and worst vendors, and she'll be able to steer you in the right direction. We hired a few other vendors before hiring Amanda and, in short, it was a mistake. So take advantage of her knowledge and experience in this regard. 2) If possible, go with her Full Planning package. I was afraid that hiring a full time planner would take all of the creative freedom away from me and mean that I wasn't in full control of my wedding. But that's not how it works. Full planning really means that you have her full support. She'd be your wedding accountant, assistant and coach - all while being a bottomless pit of valuable information.

Fantastic experience: We worked with Amanda for day of coordination for our wedding at the end of August only a couple weeks ago. Amanda herself was already scheduled for another couple's wedding the same day as ours, so on the actual day we had one of her other coordinators and an assistant, Heather and Danielle. The meetings we had with Amanda through the process were a blast! We knew what we wanted out of the day, and her advice & skills kept us on track. And how can you not have fun when there's a visit from Ollie (Amanda's dog) during your meeting? The rehearsal and wedding both went off without a hitch. Heather and Danielle were there to get us in gear when we needed it, and handle any issues. Heather also had a chance to bust out her emergency boutonniere skills when my dad's didn't make it to the ceremony. Bottom line - if you're thinking of working with Amanda and her team, go for it! One of my bridesmaids commented post ceremony that I was incredibly relaxed while we were getting ready the morning of.
