Fantastic experience: I just want to start off by emphasizing that hiring Carmen was ultimately “the best” wedding decision. Amongst the planners I was considering, I hired Carmen as my month of planner. From the beginning, Carmen gave off a pleasant, calming and kind vibe. That was everything I needed as the quick to stress, SUPER type A bride to be. Carmen spoke very eloquently throughout the interview, it was easy to feel her professionalism. She was never pushy and she was not calculating. Somehow she came off as someone whom I can reach out to without feeling like a bother because she gave off a “devoted” to her brides feeling. I hired Carmen more than a month before my wedding, and even though I hired Carmen as month of, Carmen made an effort to start a google doc with us to help us stay organized and in the loop the whole time. Staying organized is absolutely necessary when wedding planning as it can be very easily overwhelming. Carmen also made the effort to reach out a few times throughout the year to check to see if I hit any road blocks. She truly listened tentatively to all my concerns. She offered her opinions and suggested some solutions each time. I also messaged her a few times to ask questions at which Carmen always answered in a timely manner. Even when Carmen was busy with her destination wedding, with a different time zone, she made an effort to tend to my crazy stresses, but in a very friendly way. Talking to her was like talking to a good friend. She will politely call me out on my impractical dreams. But, she’s not one to judge, neither is she one to imply her own suggestions on me. You could feel that she just wants your wedding to work out. She repetitively reminds you that the day will be beautiful and each time I end a conversation with Carmen, it’s always with a smile and I am reminded that I am in good hands. These seldom checkups made me feel better at my own progress but also helped calm me because I knew there was someone just a text, phone or video call away. Comes the month of my wedding, Carmen really picked up her pace with following up. We further analyzed the wedding google doc and itineraries. She filled in the blanks where was necessary. She raised concerns where we would have easily missed without her expertise. She personally reached out to all our vendors and made sure everyone was updated on the itineraries. Then of course, when issues were raised, she dealt with them and found her own solutions. For example, I hired someone to professionally put together a champagne tower for me because I’ve heard and seen too many horrific outcomes. However, due to my very detailed decor, vendors needed to arrive at certain time during the wedding day. Turns out the time originally booked is not the time required now. The concern never caused me any extra stress as Carmen took care of all the concerns and also somehow managed to assemble the tower herself and the whole champagne tower flowed beautifully. She listened to my concerns of worrying about having any flutes break on my wedding day. She and her team worked together to distribute them, collect them, move the champagne tower table to a safe place after the pour. It all happened so seamlessly, the table was in front of the sweetheart table, I did not even notice when it was moved out of the way. On the day of my wedding, I must say that’s when I totally 110% felt grateful for Carmen. She respectfully and efficiently dealt with all the issues that came up. She handled it with grace, a smile always and kindness. She also managed last minute changes and I felt she made magic happen for me on my wedding day. It allowed my wedding day to flow seamlessly and allowed the easy to stress girl I am to enjoy the day with my husband and loved ones. It would not have been the same without Carmen. Fantastic experience: We hired Carmen over a year ago when we wanted to do a destination wedding. Over the past year, Carmen has been amazing at listening to our questions and concerns, helping us find vendors and places that were within our vision, as well as, within our budget. She was also very experienced and reminded us of details and information that we wouldn't have thought of if we didn't have her with us. We ended up choosing Hawaii as our destination wedding which isn't her usual stomping grounds. However, Carmen was very effective at connecting with local vendors and providing us a lot of attractive options, for the wedding venue, welcome party and general ideas on how the wedding trip would flow (e.g. preparing welcome bags, procure random items for the wedding, coordinating the videography sessions, etc.). Carmen was also very patient with us and calmly guided us through the process when the planning started getting overwhelming. Despite not being able to see or visit the venue and set up beforehand, Carmen stayed on top of everything. The whole event, including the welcome party, the wedding ceremony and reception, were beautiful and things just happened seamlessly, thanks to Carmen. At the end of the night, she even helped us save some mementos from the night which we totally forgot as we were inebriated and had a moment of regret the next morning. We've been to many weddings, but objectively speaking, this one was the best one! My husband and I could not have been happier. Fantastic experience: Carmen was an absolute joy to work with! About a month after getting engaged, my (now) wife and I began researching and interviewing wedding planners. Four to five planners in, they all started to sound the same, but what stood out to us about Carmen was that we felt *heard*. We knew immediately that she would help make our vision a reality, and when we hit walls, provided us with inspiration without dictating what to do. Throughout the entire process, she was communicative and extremely flexible with our schedule and requests. She routinely responded in a timely manner - even at odd hours of the night - which gave us confidence that she was hard at work for us and her other clients! She coordinated with all our vendors seamlessly (photographer, videographer, MC, officiant, florist, hair/makeup, live music, wedding cake, venue). Even a last minute request (literally 2 days before our wedding) was accounted for and communicated to the relevant parties without a hitch. On the big day, we never thought we would ever say this but the day of the wedding was a breeze! Carmen and her assistants, Queenie and Vanessa were attentive, thoughtful and provided reassurance with multiple check-ins the entire 10+ hours that we were with them. They handled literally everything: from ensuring that all events were going as scheduled to ensuring we stayed hydrated during the blazing hot July afternoon. Vanessa also made sure that my wife ate throughout her getting ready which was much appreciated! All of the criteria we established for our wedding were met (or exceeded!) and all we really had to worry about was greeting our guests and looking good for photos. Fantastic experience: As soon as I was engaged, the first vendor I wanted to book was a wedding planner. At the time I was working full time from home and taking care of a toddler. I had absolutely no time in between to plan a wedding! I googled the best wedding planners in Toronto, and Devoted To You came up. Little did I know, I was actually following Carmen on Instagram because I casually stumbled upon her page, before I got engaged, what a coincidence! I knew following her on Instagram was a good idea. I contacted Carmen, filled out her client forms, and she was extremely responsive to schedule a meeting in person and talk about her services and potentially book with her. Thankfully this was a time after businesses were slowly opening from covid - 19 restrictions. Of course I booked with her, and had no doubt she’d be an asset during the wedding planning process. She immediately started working on finding wedding venues for my now husband and I to see, and booking times to tour. She was there at every venue tour, which I greatly appreciated because she asked questions which I myself wouldn’t have thought of. We found our dream venue, and I was extremely happy to know that she had planned at our venue before. After venue shopping, she kept me on track with booking vendors, and provided extensive options for hair, makeup, videographers, and photographers, DJ’s, florists, etc . Carmen was able to recommend vendors at different costs which suited our budget. She did not force us to book with the “most expensive” vendors, and gave great insight on areas we can save. She coordinated all the meetings with the potential vendors, ensured we were comfortable with the vendor we booked, and even encouraged us to think on vendors for a while before we made our decision. The wedding planning process was extremely enjoyable from start to finish, by having Carmen by my side. The month before, as expected, was extremely busy for us, but she took control with confirming ALL the vendors, and coordinating final meetings and reminder payments for us. On the day of the wedding, I felt absolute bliss. I placed all my trust in Carmen, and that gave me the peace I had during the day. I met her assistant, Queenie, who was an absolute sweetheart, and Sarah who was also extremely sweet, whom I met at the venue. There was not a time during the wedding day, that I had doubted Carmen’s abilities to make the day run smoothly. I was able to be in the moment of my wedding day, take it all in, and enjoy the day seamlessly. Carmen’s ability to implement immediate changes to make the day seem as if there were no changes, was extremely impressive. That validated the reason why I hired her and why I would hire her again.

Fantastic experience: Carmen planned our recent wedding at Casa loma and working with her was a dream. She was patient, kind, hardworking and on top of everything. We are super grateful for all the extra mile, the above and beyond she is willing to go for her clients - including (and not limited to) dragging our heavy bulky wedding stuff with her in an extra checked bag to Jamaica a few days in advance so that she could help lighten our luggages. Fantastic experience: We worked with Carmen on our summer 2022 wedding which hosted 170 guests at the Steam Whistle Brewery. We went with the full planning package and are so glad we did, Carmen and her team played a huge role in the planning of the wedding. We really appreciated her experience and insights on how to navigate the various options (as with this venue, everything is basically being it on yourself, so lots of decisions to make!) and on how to make it as seamless as possible. With so much demand for anything wedding related post-COVID, Carmen helped us understand all our options and what things we should focus on and which would have the biggest impact on guest experience. My wife had a very specific vision for the day and Carmen really made all the pieces fall into place perfectly. She was always available and willing to go the extra-mile to make things easier on us. On our wedding day, Carmen and her team were instrumental in coordinating all the different parties and in making the day as stress free as possible. My wife is English and I am Chinese born Canadian and it was important that our wedding incorporated aspects from both cultures. Carmen did a great job helping us navigate the various traditions and norms, and guests from all backgrounds really enjoyed the wedding. Fantastic experience: We hired Carmen for our 2022 wedding. We met with three wedding planners before deciding to go with Carmen due to her immense experience. We initially were looking for partial planning but decided to go with the full planning service. Carmen is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to wedding planning, from vendors to organization to family dynamics. Carmen gave us so many great recommendations on venues and vendors based on the style we were looking for and our budget. She had great relationships with the vendors and I believe that that added to the smoothness of our wedding. Prior to the day, she developed a written out plan with notes and directions on what would be happening. She took us through the plan and answered any questions that we had. Fantastic experience: We met with 2 other wedding planners and ultimately decided on Carmen because of experience and the connection we felt. Thankful for that connection because COVID delayed our wedding 1.5 years and Carmen was incredible in re-booking / re-organizing the wedding twice. Initially, I was against a wedding planner. "I have planned parties before, how hard can this be?" Having been through it now, I am thankful that we got Carmen. There are so many details involved and decisions to make, that I would not have thought of. Carmen was always available for any questions that my wife and I had. Carmen also has cultivated strong relationships with key wedding vendors (photographer, videographer, florist/decor etc) and was able leverage those relationships to help us achieve my wife's dream wedding. Fantastic experience: We hired Carmen to help organize our backyard wedding during COVID-19. She did a great job and was able to organize the tea ceremony as well. A backyard wedding has an incredible amount of unforeseen logistics and she was able to manage everything. She introduced us to an amazing designer/florist (Nous Design) and cater (Elle Cuisine).

Fantastic experience: My partner and I want to thank Carmen for her services. She was helpful and although we went in another direction, she was reasonable and we can tell that she's diligent. Out of her recommendations, please be careful of Konrad Czystowski of Freshsox - a videographer. He's tried to take advantage of us during this pandemic. When we let him know that our wedding would be cancelled, he tried to raise our rate by a significant amount. His terms are also not customer friendly, we worked with Carmen to negotiate his rate. We do not recommend giving too much money and make the mistake that we did, which was provide 50%/$2500 deposit. Also initially, he wanted us to pay the full balance 10. days before the wedding, before seeing his work, so we negotiated to pay him after we receive the product. These were all signs that Konrad didn't think about the customer, but we looked the other way. Carmen was helpful in the negotiation, but we just wish we didn't meet Konrad. We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. He seemed reputable, but had no reviews, now it's really come back to bite us as he's holding onto our full deposit and is now ignoring us or communicating erratically. Konrad hasn't followed his own contract, which says he should return our money if he can't perform due to an Act of God, so now we have had to spend extra time and money to retrieve what we are rightfully owed. Therefore it is really important to us that we share our experience. Although Carmen was helpful, this is one recommendation if she ever provides to watch out for.

Fantastic experience: I first worked with Carmen at the Palais Royale for a wedding. The couple hired us separately (Carmen as the wedding planner, me as the MC and DJ). As soon as I met her, I knew she was an expert in her field. Drawing from her personal and professional experiences, Carmen was instrumental in helping us make key decisions for our 200-guest, Chinese wedding, and was a great joy to work with. She was very professional, detail-oriented, and flexible in her communication style, which we very much appreciated as I was travelling for work and had to manage different time zones. Fantastic experience: Carmen was the BEST!!! My twin sister and I had a double reception with one wedding on the Friday and a second wedding on Saturday, which made for a very, very busy wedding weekend! Fantastic experience: Carmen exceeded my expectations. From my first initial meeting with her, she was warm, stylish, professional while also making you feel really comfortable. She came prepared with everything you would expect and more (with cute folders too!), we hit it off and after that I knew she would be my planner. During the process, she really made it as smooth as possible. Being in interior design and operations myself I was used to noticing the fine details of everything! However she would make me feel at ease and would be on top of everything (including answering my 17 question emails!). Although the services I agreed with only allowed a few meetings and phone calls, there was no limit with Carmen. I remember the first time when we met, she was willing to drive all the way from the suburb to Toronto downtown where we live. Basically she makes efforts for customer convenience. That means a lot! Fantastic experience: Carmen from Devoted to You was our wedding planner (we chose the day-of package, which means she gets involved a few weeks before the wedding), and right off the bat I can tell you that she was fantastic. Even for someone as organized as I am, it is just not possible to be a bride (and enjoy your day) and execute your own wedding, so hiring a wedding planner, especially Carmen, was money well spent. Not only did she execute the day of the wedding seamlessly, but she was also full of vendor recommendations (that are on budget, and even last minute) and wedding advice in general, always making herself available. She was never overbearing and always respected our vision and opinions (and handled my opinionated relatives very well!), yet still managed to steer us away from making wrong choices. Carmen attended our wedding tasting, and held a number of ad hoc meetings with us and our vendors to ensure all the details were in place. She is VERY organized – her day of itinerary was broken out into 15 minute intervals! I certainly appreciated that since this reflects her dedication to the bride and groom’s vision. The week before the wedding she organized all the vendor contracts and contacted each vendor to ensure they were ready to go. We did not want to do a rehearsal, but Carmen came out on her own time to one of our pre-wedding events to ensure that she had a chance to talk to the entire wedding party in case they had any questions and to review the itinerary. On the day of she started bright and early, did the bridal party coffee run and picked up our lunch, in addition to ensuring that all the vendors were doing what they were supposed to be doing…and she also ran around with a glass of water with a straw to ensure I was hydrated throughout the day. Carmen went well beyond her scope of duty to ensure that we had a seamless and memorable day. Prior to the wedding, she met with the two of us on a number of occasions to understand what we wanted in our perfect day and help plan it. Knowing our MC was a bit nervous, she even met with him to ensure he was comfortable. She would always be prepared at these meetings with a plan of action as well as extra print outs for what was needed to be done. Carmen would also try to make herself available when it came to meeting with vendors (although she was not required to). Most importantly, she would be up front with us on costs of certain vendors and whether there were too many activities that would run over time. Carmen and her team assisted throughout the planning process from the recommendation and selection of vendors, to the coordination with the hotel and the set-up. In the lead up to the wedding, Carmen was always very responsive and quick to address any concerns we had. Despite having a cultural wedding with over 300 people, Carmen provided us with a detailed schedule and ensured the whole wedding party was on time. She was extremely helpful particularly with the logistics as we had many different events throughout the day (door games, tea ceremony, church ceremony, reception, dinner, etc). From the start of day when she arrived at 6am to prep the bridesmaids for the makeup artists to the dinner reception, Carmen and her team were very professional and would be helpful wherever possible and no matter how small the task. Her team even assisted me in my numerous outfit changes during the evening! Carmen is also respectful to parents/ relatives and was able to communicate to them in Cantonese and Mandarin which was a huge plus for us. Being a bit of a bridezilla who is a perfectionist, I was truly impressed with Carmen's work. She truly goes above and beyond to make everything perfect and everyone happy. Fantastic experience: We first chose Carmen as our wedding planner mainly because of her bilingual (Chinese and English) as my mom doesn't speak very good English. Her professionalism and attention to details pleasantly surprised us throughout our wedding planning process. Carmen recommended us lots of great vendors (from florist, photographer to dance instructor) within our budget. We had over 120 guests in our wedding at the Carlu. The entire event was organized perfectly down to the details. Many guests told me (later) that they thought the event was very well organized. We cannot ask for a better wedding!

That's why I booked Devoted To You for their Month of Coordination services. Since I don't live in Toronto, we did our meetings over skype and they came up with some great questions and suggestions I hadn't thought of on my own. The day of the wedding I was completely relaxed and just enjoyed every second of our wedding knowing that Carmen and Kate were taking care of all the nitty gritty details behind the scene and making sure everything ran smoothly. It was the best decision we made to hire them for our wedding! I know some couples go back and forth on whether to invest the money on coordinators because they think they can just do it themselves...but trust me, it's worth every penny because it allows YOU to actually be present and enjoy your special day!

Fantastic experience: Carmen has been extremely thoughtful during the whole wedding planning process, she has made the tedious and scary process organised and easy. First and foremost, Carmen is extremely passionate about what she does and bringing joy to her friends. Here I used 'friends' instead of 'clients' because my wife and I really felt being in great hands of a long time friend. Planning for a wedding, after first hand experience, is extremely difficult and nerve wrecking, and to us, the feeling of having an experienced friend looking out for us was paramount. Secondly, organisation and experience. Our understanding of the wedding planning was this big unmanageable mess, but since Carmen was an such outstanding seasoned veteran, she offered detailed plan and timeline, and executed on point, so we never felt behind or rushed along the way. We always had plenty time at each step to review all details, which allowed us to make great decisions on every aspect of our wedding. Third, representation and budgeting. Carmen accompanied us throughout the entire 6 months. She was not only there with us at every important meeting with vendors, wedding venue, etc, she represented our best interest. She was always the first to voice our concern on our behalf at any situation that arose. In addition, she always tried her best to negotiate the best deal for us for the most value returned, hence how we stayed within budget :D Last but not least, close connections to great vendors. Not only was Carmen a pleasure to work with, all vendors she introduced for DJ, music band, designer, decoration, were passionate groups of utter most professionalism. Every part of our wedding was surreal because we were in unbelievable hands. They will be able to plan your wedding efficiently and thoroughly even if you're not in Toronto, and/or if the wedding is not in Toronto.
