We had a private estate wedding at my parents’ house, and the work it takes to turn a space into a wedding venue is overwhelming. Not all of it is fun or obvious, but Alex handled every moving part flawlessly: coordinating vendors, managing family and guests, and taking care of behind-the-scenes details. She is unbelievably organized and responded to my emails very quickly, making the planning process feel less stressful. In the days leading up to the wedding and on the day itself, she quietly problem solved so we could focus on enjoying the moment. My husband, family, and I were around during setup in the days leading up—the tent going up, bars arriving, tables being arranged—and while I was very involved in the vision and design, walking into the tent on the wedding day still exceeded all my expectations. Being busy in our careers, spending hours planning a wedding was not something we wanted to do. Claire made the whole process seem easy - even though we know, without a doubt, that she was doing so much hard work behind the scenes. She is incredibly organized and communicative and brought our vision to life. Her attention to detail and organization is unmatched. Our wedding day was incredibly relaxing from the beginning to the end, and also a perfect reflection of us as a couple. We cannot recommend Blush and Bowties enough.

My husband and I live in the US and were planning our wedding in Toronto. We knew we wanted a planner that could go to vendor meetings, meet via zoom, and could make it all come together for us as we were out of the country. We chose to work with Blush and Bowties because of their attention to detail, intentional designs, their focus on the experience of your day, and their overall enthusiasm for taking on the planning of our wedding! From the very beginning Alex provided mood boards that were exactly aligned with what our hopes and dreams for our wedding day would look like, we worked off of those and a 3D rendering to carefully and intentionally choose all of the details and decor. Alex sourced the best florists and vendors to take on the vision of our wedding and make it come to life. She gave options and never pushed us towards the most expensive option and guided us through what would be the most impactful on our budget. It was so helpful to have her give us timelines of when the dress should be ordered, when to send out invites, what sites to use for RSVPs, she kept our timeline on track and stress free! She is kind, funny, organized, thoughtful and calm. Seeing her work her magic and be the director of the whole production of the day was truly inspiring. She is an expert and works endlessly for a seamless hassle free day for the bride and groom. I felt nothing but ease and trust in her as I knew she was amazing as what she does. Our wedding day could not have been any better!! If any hiccup came up, she immediately and calmly found a solution. Having her plan the wedding was one thing, but then seeing her coordinate our wedding day was a whole other thing that she so effortlessly did with a smile on her face! She is truly the fairy godmother every bride needs on her wedding day!! I loved being as hands on as possible with Alex to figure out details and design ideas because I enjoy it, but I know she would be the best person to work with even if you didn't come with any ideas and wanted someone to just take it away and do their thing to make a beautiful and memorable wedding! She looks outside the box, knows what's trending, knows what's boring, knows what should be skipped and what's important, and is always up for doing something unexpected and untraditional! 10/10 highly recommend Alex and her team! We had a complex venue that had to be built from scratch, and a very specific vision for our wedding. From the start, Alex was on it. From the budgeting, vision planning and execution, it was essentially stress free for my finance and I. The amount of work that goes on behind the scenes, was incredible. We felt like the B&B team truly understood what we wanted, was honest with us, never misled us, and brought it all to life. Even with things completely out of control, such as weather, Alex and the team of vendors she brought in, handled everything with kindness and grace and I don’t think the day would have been the same without the team we had. Expérience fantastique: The best thing I did for our wedding was hire Narnia and her team!! I got the partial planning and it was perfect. From the beginning of our meeting I knew this was the right fit. I am Type A but also get overwhelmed by the small things and that was a perfect compromise because I was able to bounce my ideas and visions of the team and they were able to make it come true. Narnia listens to what you want and gives you ways to make it happen in the best way (and budget friendly way). By the end of the planning process she felt like a friend and someone easy to confide in about wedding stresses and was able to ease the stress. I was so calm on the day because i knew she had everything under control. If you’re looking for a team who cares and listens and allows you to enjoy the fun of planning this is the perfect fit!!

Expérience fantastique: We had the absolute privilege of working with Claire. She possesses all of the skills you should look for in a wedding planner. She is dedicated, understanding, organized, skilled with numbers, and creative. We do not know what we would have done without her. Truly. DEDICATED AND UNDERSTANDING Planning a wedding can be emotional and may involve balancing many different people's inputs. Claire offers her couples a non-judgmental ear and a solid shoulder to lean on. She appreciates the intricacies and navigates them skillfully without losing sight of the couple's vision. ORGANIZED We had a large wedding within a short amount of time. At our inquiry meeting with Claire, we thought she was going to tell us we were being unrealistic. Instead, she was confident it could be done because of the knowledge and process Blush & Bowties offers. She was not wrong. The plan Claire executed with the support of Alex was efficient and complete and not burdensome on us. We know that this is because she did a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes for us. The day-of ran smoothly (mostly thanks to Claire's detailed schedule with built-in contingencies) and I still can't believe how carefree I felt the entire day. Claire and her team took care of everything and we just enjoyed the day! SKILLED WITH NUMBERS Weddings and cost go hand in hand. I have heard horror stories from other brides about their planners miscalculating cost or disregarding their budget. Not Claire. She maintained the budget spreadsheet flawlessly. She created detailed charts to compare cost, line by line, when we were deciding between different venues. She was realistic with estimates and was honest about what was needed and where we could save. For example, she was right about the dance floor decal - it completed our vision - and she found a way to make it work with our budget. Another example, we really wanted to incorporate trees into our design and rather than pushing us to go for it, she showed us how it just wouldn't work with our budget. Instead, Claire suggested these beautiful leafy arrangements on pedestals that were still stunning and cost-effective! CREATIVE Blush & Bowties did not disappoint in terms of design. One of the best parts of planning this wedding with Claire was the design meeting. My husband and I are not creative types whatsoever. But, we both had a vision that we didn't know how to articulate. Claire figured out what we wanted before we even knew what we wanted. She asked a lot of insightful questions and then built out a vision that was better than we had ever imagined. She helped us choose skilled vendors and worked diligently with them to make it all come together. And it was just spectacular. From day one, Claire set and met expectations. We know how lucky we are to have the wedding that we did with Claire and her team at the helm. Can't recommend Blush & Bowties, especially Claire, enough!!

Expérience fantastique: TL;DR: I recommend Claire Marisa of Blush & Bowties without pause or hesitation.! In fact, I do not simply recommend, but encourage you to reach out to her. A near-daily comment in our home throughout the wedding planning process was “thank goodness for Claire.” — I thought we could plan our wedding ourselves. Then I thought we could hire a wedding planner to just manage a few tasks and we’d handle the rest. In truth, we couldn’t have had a wedding without Claire. Maybe we could’ve gotten married, but we never would have managed to have a beautiful day, never could we have had all of our family and friends in a single place, never would we have left saying it was the best day of our lives. That is all because of Claire. Claire was phenomenal in many ways. I consider us rather Type A people and Claire beat us at our own game. She was always five-steps ahead of us. Remembering what we said weeks ago or sending us an email about an essential to-do that wasn’t on our radar. Logistically, Claire is the best project manager both of us have ever worked with, not just personally, professionally too. She ensured our day went by without a hitch, but also the months prior. The calm we felt knowing that Claire was “on-it” was worth it alone. We could focus on each other and our families, instead of worrying about whether something tactical would be forgotten or missed. Thanks to Claire, we got to focus on what mattered. Besides the tactics of our day, there’s also the budget. Because money certainly isn’t infinite, it meant a lot that Claire was fastidious in her budgeting and kept us on budget. There were no surprises and we concluded our wedding payments with a feeling of calm, with no last-minute whoopses…which would have surely been incredibly stressful had that arisen. I know Blush & Bowties must be thanked at large for their design work on our wedding. Still, as a designer-artist pairing ourselves, we know that listening well is not a small skill. We came to the table without a pinterest board and all of zero wedding designs that we actually liked. Instead, we had a smattering of hotels around the world we loved and a sense of the energy we wanted to feel on our day. Claire didn’t bat an eye. She was able to ask questions in a way that drew us out and actually helped us to clarify an aesthetic that we didn’t come to realize until we spoke to Claire. That is a mark of a true design talent! Without Claire we wouldn’t have walked into our wedding and felt it was ours. She realized a vision we didn’t yet know we had. When she revealed our reception space — it was literally perfect. Claire not only helped us articulate our vision, she realized it. Never would we have thought that the most beautiful place we’ve been...would be our own wedding. I imagine helping two people get married is a tough job. It’s wrought with the complexity of finances, families, feelings, expectations and realities. Claire is a true professional. We could bring concerns and questions to her — about the flow of the day, support we needed or anything that was on our mind. Claire handled things with a grace and competency that put us at ease. There is a comfort that comes with knowing you’re in the hands of an expert. As two people whose “best day ever” looks like a cozy couch, cozy PJs and no one else — we never expected our “best day ever” would be a day of dressing up with tons of people all staring at us. As two people who have idiosyncratic opinions on art/design, we never imagined our aesthetics could be merged and realized at our wedding, especially in Toronto. Claire really did it — she created our perfect space…and she did what I believed impossible…she helped make our wedding our “best day ever.” We are eternally grateful for Claire.

We are absolutely glowing about our wedding, and we could not imagine it being such a resounding success without Claire. Design: We came to Claire with no pinterest boards. Some disparate aesthetic references that were meaningful to us. A hotel in Tbilisi. Another one in Tokyo. A summer evening in Italy. Claire presented us with a vision board that absolutely nailed our aesthetic in a way that blew us a way. On the day of our wedding, the vision came to life spectacularly. Project Management: Outstanding organization and detail. Claire would remember things we said and details better than us. It was like she understood us before we even needed to speak. I quickly gained total faith and trust in her. She organized every last detail without a single matter being overlooked. She understood exactly what we wanted and needed. We could relax and focus on other important matters for the wedding: family and our experience. Her organizational capacity was brilliant and I always felt at ease through the planning process and on the day itself. Being able to find someone who can manage design and organization in one person is very rare and difficult. Clare is an exceptional wedding planner. I could not be more grateful we had her support and as a true collaborative partner.

Expérience fantastique: My husband and I found Blush and Bow Ties on Instagram, and decided to have a consultation meeting because we loved the intentional and untraditional approach Blush and Bowties has when they approach wedding design. Alex, from Blush and Bow Ties, was a dream come true. From our very first meeting she instantly understood our vision for our wedding, better yet — she understood the emotion we wanted to evoke. She helped us stay on budget, find vendors, she did all the communication with the vendors, organize the flow of the day (for us and all the vendors involved), created the vision, she set up the day and cleaned up, kept us organized with payments, and made sure that the day felt stress free and seamless. She also did a whole bunch more behind the scenes that we still don’t know about! The morning of our wedding, I was unusually calm, because I fully trusted that Alex would bring our vision to life, the way that I always dreamed it would. Doubt never crossed my mind. Walking down the aisle the only thing I could think of was “wow, Alex killed it!” And then, when I saw the reception, it was just a confirmation that Alex was the best decision we made in our wedding planning process. Throughout the night, Alex would come up to us and made sure we had everything we needed, and helped me with my dress in more ways you could think a planner would. Alex was so good at her job, that my husband and I would genuinely forget we were planning a wedding because she thought and organized everything. With Alex, wedding planning genuinely was an stress-free and thought-free process and we cannot recommend her enough!! Best of all — You can tell that Alex genuinely cares about her people and that feeling of being cared for, is what leaves the biggest impact. Expérience fantastique: My husband and I were married in May of 2023 in Toronto at the Symes. After our first interview with Alex we fell in love with her and her energy and philosophy. We shared our vision and she immediately understood us as a couple and what it is we wanted for our wedding and from our planner. Alex promptly drew up a calendar to keep us organized and informed, helping us avoid surprises. We can wholeheartedly say the planning process was an absolute dream. We truly enjoyed the months leading up to our big day, from venue tours to visiting their HQ for a mock-up of the table arrangements… she somehow managed to make sure the smallest details were addressed without overwhelming us. The Blush and Bowties teams' relationships with vendors enabled us to have everything we wanted, down to a checkered marble dance floor and a string quartet for cocktail hour. Over the course of our wedding week Alex worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect, seeing each detail through down to the departure of our guests. It was absolutely perfect and it's all because of her. I came to Alex with a dream I have had since I was 14 years old. My dream Cottage wedding. I have been dreaming of this day for as long as I can remember. Not realizing how much truly goes in to building a venue from the ground up I became overwhelmed as most brides do. Alexandra was truly the calm to my storm, she was patient and always kept me on top of everything. She always made use feel as though she had everything 100% under control. Lauren is very professional and responsive but also a warm and thoughtful person. It was so important to my partner and I to be fully present and enjoy our wedding day with our loved ones. We didn't want to designate a bunch of tasks to our parents or friends and we didn't want to have to worry about running the show behind the scenes ourselves either. With Lauren we knew we were in good hands. She came to a venue site visit armed with a giant checklist of things to review, helped us develop a planning outline, day-of itinerary, and also took care of all our vendor communication the week before the wedding. On the big day she managed everything from venue set-up to vendor drop offs. She made sure everything ran on time and everyone was in the right place...and she made it all look effortless. There were a lot of ideas, lists, options, opinions and to be honest, it was all overwhelming. I didn't know how to create the look/feel/day let alone consider all the logistics and moving parts. Enter Alex and her Blush& Bowties team. From our very first meeting to our wedding day, Alex was always listening, guiding and expertly organizing every last detail of our day. There was a clear timeline so that we knew what to expect as the day got closer and closer, and so that I knew everything would be taken care of WHEN it had to be taken care of. Alex helped me take my vision (as abstract and random as some pieces were) and make it all a reality - venue, colour palette, table design, floral designs, etc.All the things that I wouldn't have considered (contracts, deposits due, transport, vendor needs, ceremony audio, etc) were clearly outlined and checked off the list. In addition to having all those boxes checked, the thing I appreciated the most was that I could relax and enjoy the day, knowing that everything was falling into place exactly as planned. I had a number of people approach me on the day to say, "you seem so relaxed!" AND I WAS!! The day is jam packed and flies right by and I can't tell you how thankful I am that I actually got to enjoy all the moments. No matter how big or small your wedding is, the value that Alex and her team bring is absolutely worth it. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat (and really, REALLY wish I could - it was an incredible day).

Expérience négative: We’ve been debating whether to post this review or not over the last six months since our wedding. It’s rare that we write a negative review, as both of us firmly believe that people are usually trying their best, however, there were a number of issues throughout the entire full service planning process that make it hard to recommend working with B&B. During the initial call, we were sold on the combined team of Alex (owner) and Amanda (planner), specifically “two heads are better than one”. In reality, once we signed a full planning contract, Amanda was the sole contact barring one major “vision” meeting. Pre-Event 1. Quotes and contracts were consistently missing information or had incorrect information. When a quote was done incorrectly by a vendor, Blush & Bowties did little to go to bat for us, instead offering a vendor-serving compromise. We had to flag an error in the food contract that was not as discussed. 2. Details matter, especially when wedding planning. Simple things like having our planner tell us we have two signature drinks in our bar package only to find out from Alex, the owner, that we actually have three. Or that draping had to be specifically purchased and brought in mere months out (an unexpected expense) and it hadn’t included in the budget breakdown given to us. Unified communication from B&B was few and far between. 3. Amanda seemed stretched thin throughout the planning process. We escalated these concerns to Alex but were told it was fine. Day of 1. Building on attention to detail and communication themes, small items went awry, for instance the wrong white wine being served without a heads up on the switch. The floor plan didn't materialize as mapped out (i.e. grazing table was put against a wall vs middle of the cocktail area to promote conversation), the podium for speeches was placed on the other side of the wall–causing some confusion for our MC who we had placed specifically beside the podium in the floor plan. 2. Centerpieces were not wrapped / placed in containers after dinner so guests could take them home. We had requested this in writing weeks in advance only to have a guest ruin her dress when she went to take one and had water drip down her gown. 3. We were assured a few weeks out that they would have staff present until the close of the event. That junior team member, through no fault of their own, was left in the dark on many of our requests (e.g. floral wrapping), or the proper timing of them. They were unable to offer assistance other than to call Alex, who couldn’t help as she was not there and Amanda had already left. Post Event 1. There was no follow up or check in to see how the day went, what could be improved moving forward, or any questions we may have. Client service fell flat, which has left a sour taste in our mouth after all the time spent working together. We’ve scored B&B two stars as it’s evident that Alex has a great design aesthetic and cares about her businesses. However, it's clear that she has pivoted focus to scaling out other endeavors (i.e. Archive Studios) which leaves clients of B&B to the wayside. Considering we paid for the full planning package, expectations are understandably high. As such, we cannot in good conscience recommend working with Blush & Bowties and recommend you look elsewhere for full planning services.

She rescheduled our wedding during the pandemic and helped navigate all of the ongoing changes. Our day was flawless because of her attention to detail and organizational skills. Even when I put her to the ultimate test, spilling makeup on my dress just before walking down the aisle, she remained calm, cool and collected!
